There are many who prefer it as an alternative to coffee. A hot lemon verbena drink is the perfect choice to end our day and let’s see how we can easily prepare it:
- Place a few lemon verbenas leaves in a closing container *. We only need 3 to 4 dried leaves.
- Add 200ml (a cup) of hot water, temperature 90οC *.
- Wait for three to five minutes. Time depends on how “strong” we want our drink, the more we leave it the stronger.

Iced Tea with Dittany, Lemon Verbena, and Orange:
Lemon verbena can be prepared in a cold drink very easily making a delicious cold tea with a lemon aroma. Here we combine it with Cretan dittany and orange, taking off aromas and flavors!
For making a glass of cold lemon verbena drink with dittany, firstly we will need a tablespoon full of dried lemon verbena leaves of excellent quality and a tablespoon of Cretan dittany. Heat a cup of fresh water, just before boiling point (at 90oC *). Add the herb leaves and cover the pan. Wait for about 5 minutes. Remember that we want a strong drink, as we will add ice.
Serve in a glass full of ice, adding a little fresh sweet orange juice. Decorate your glass with a slice of orange and 2 lemon verbena leaves!
*We want our water to be just before the boiling point in order not to lose the essential oils of our herb with the steam, while the utensil must be closed in order to capture properties and aromas in our hot cup.
